It was only 18 months ago that O’Flynn blipped on our radar with the gargantuan Tyrion/Desmond’s Empire. The young producer has worked hard not to be typecast in that percussive, African-influenced sound that first created such a stir on two Blip Discs releases, and has since diversified with grime-oriented darkness and funk-filled bass lines on his own label self-titled label. To keep things ticking over between releases, O’Flynn has gifted us a new one he’s been testing out in DJ sets this summer. Yes it’s a disco-house track and one that’s already proven on the floor, but its unconventional approach with such dramatic ebbs and flows give it a more nuanced charm, further consolidating O’Flynn’s reputation as a versatile and dexterous producer.
