Kowton – Glock & Roll

First heard emerging in the wake of the gargantuan ‘Three Mile Island‘ in Joy Orbison’s Essential Mix, Kowton’s ‘Glock & Roll’ felt like emerging from the darkness into the light.

Upon further listening in different contexts, it’s anything but. The rolling, crazed percussion rattles like a train, while the serene bells keep things ticking over until the bridge takes you even deeper. Released in the middle of winter on Nic Tasker’s new Whities imprint, this could easily cement itself as a frenzy-inducing summer hit as we head into festival season.

‘Glock & Roll’ is out now on 12”, although quite deservedly seems to be sold out everywhere. Repress on the way in a few weeks we hear, so don’t feed the Discogs vultures just yet.
