Animated German duo Session Victim return this November with dazzlingly intricate second album See You When You Get There. The album sees the pair channel their boundary-pushing take on house music in eleven gorgeous tracks, taking influence from soul, disco and jazz. One of the highlights is ‘Stick Together’, recently featured in Gerd Janson’s XLR8R podcast, building nicely with shuffling percussion including a bongo reminiscent of Motor City Drum Ensemble’s ‘Raw Cuts #2’. The bass eventually arrives, playing call and response with the swirling melody, holding all the layers together to create the track’s coherent groove.
