Christmas is set to come early this year as chameleonic producer Borrowed Identity readies a four track EP of disco edits for Homesick’s third release this December.
Packed with enough funk to re-start hearts, EP highlight ‘Run Run Run’ immediately delights, its old-skool warmth enough to embrace every dancer on the floor. Hats and claps precede the bulk of the beat and, as the bassline swells up underneath the percussion, it picks the listener up with it. Its immediate, grin-inducing groove stays true to Roy Ayers’s original, ‘Running Away‘, while providing a more uptempo house backbone.
