‘Adjustment’ is an omnidirectional sound landscape, flowing steadily as one. Layers of manipulated sound under moments of captivating, grainy Rhodes piano and scatters of warm hang drum play to the familiar skip of vinyl after the end of that favourite album. An overall calm is the residual feeling of this down-tempo, electro-acoustic jazz number despite the skipping heartbeat rhythm. “Loving me, yet so far away” are the repeated words, giving ample room for the imagination to dwell on, while momentarily under the enchantment of ghostly vocals from Alda Olafsdottir. With so many distinct elements, it’s no wonder something even more interesting is discovered and making it more dynamic with every listen.
‘Adjustment’ is taken from the excellent Chromatisch EP, out now via Holm Records and available on Bandcamp.
