Jack J – Something (On My Mind)

You might already be familiar with the latest release from Vancouver‘s own Jack Jutson (a.k.a. Jack J), which has been doing the rounds ever since it debuted a few months back on Mood Hut, ambassadors of the Canadian Riviera sound. Premiering online as part of Boiler Room debuts, the b-side off the release is so special we felt compelled to give it some more love on here for those that haven’t yet had the listening pleasure.

The track sees Jack J deliver a slice of unassuming, idyllic and summery house goodness. If you are already aware of his work as one half of the brilliant Pender Street Steppers you already know what to expect. With its unhurried warm baseline, leisurely floating sax and driving percussion, Something (On My Mind) is one of the best tracks to emerge from the Vancouver-based label, who continue to impress with their penchant for downtempo balearic vibes.

Represses of Jack J – Looking Forward To You EP are back in at Phonica and most other decent record shops.
