As a DJ, radio presenter and label boss, Tim Sweeney has built Beats In Space into one of the key platforms in underground dance music. His weekly show on WNYU, recorded live from New York City, has been going since 1999 and has never missed a show – quite a remarkable feat. Equally as impressive are the names who co-present the shows with hour long mixes, including DJ Harvey, Dixon, Prosumer, Jamie xx and John Talabot. Such is the respect of Beats In Space from DJs around the world, a guest appearance has become a necessary part of any touring schedule on the east coast. It is as much to have a catch-up with Sweeney as utilising New York’s most powerful online and radio platform for dance music.
At Corsica Studio this weekend, Tief are helping celebrate the impressive 15 year milestone by having Tim Sweeney down, alongside a host of other DJs who have helped make Beats in Space what it is today. Axel Boman and Tornado Wallace (who has also released on BIS) support in Room 1, while Hunee and Mr Ties go b2b for the first time in Room 2, all night long!
