Brand New Wayo’s Top 5 Day Party Tracks

Technically the summer has finished, but we refuse to accept that. The celebrate our stubbornness, we’re putting on a free open air at one of London’s most exciting new outdoor spaces (a certified Critics Choice at Timeout).  We’ll be creating our own little urban oasis of disco, soul, house afro and everything in between, with a host of DJs we have a lot of love for. We’re delighted that London collective Brand New Wayo will be part of the rabble. Their fortnightly, globalcentric mixes have been our go-to for pretty much any occasion that requires a steady supply of good music, new or old – in the office, cooking dinner, on holiday by the pool, even in the shower! In our eyes  they’re perfect day party so, in anticipation for their appearance, they’ve put together five favourites that sound good in the great outdoors.

No tickets are needed on Sunday, but for more info head to Facebook or Resident Advisor.

Cameo – Rigor Mortis

This 70’s funk groove was one of Cameo’s earlier releases, but the slick guitar riff and bassline is still guaranteed to get people moving.

Intrinsic Trance – Hey Policeman!

The perfect groove to compliment your day – that bass line will pick up anyone’s tempo.

Camp Lo – Coolie high

Sampling Janet Jackson, this smooth hip-hop track was released on the Great White Hope soundtrack. You can almost feel the sunshine!

Souleance – Mais Um

Infectious, Brazil-inflected beats from the Parisian duo Souleance. Summer ’14 personified.

Slave – Son Of Slide

Rolling funky goodness from Ohio’s Slave. Crazy guitar solos. So good!
