We’ve got seriously lucky with the second release on Kelly Twins-run label, Happy Skull. A debut EP by London producer ADJOWA. The A-side, 8 Ball, is a raw but glistening melodic track, packing a punch but still ensues cosmic transportation. Red Leather feels like Grandmaster Flash’s The Message meeting techno minimalism. Or described by the label itself “as if Cybotron, Moon B and Dam Funk had got together for a synth-jam somewhere far beyond the stars.” FunkinEven’s jacked-up vrooming edit completes what is one of the most commanding EPs of 2013 so far.
