Prepare yourselves for a flamboyantly freakish affair, for the Just Jack Halloween Freak Boutique is back! Now something of a Bristol institution, the annual amalgamation of ghoulish debauchery and the world’s finest in House, Techno & Disco has become one of the most anticipated events on the party calendar – and for good reason. This year, the Just Jack team have excelled themselves with arguably the most enticing line-up in their seven year history.
Undeniably, the name on every techno fan’s lips is Zip aka Thomas Franzmann. The leader of Perlon Records is one of the world’s most respected house and techno polymaths, and his rare DJ sets are famed for pushing the boundaries of dance music as we know it. His Bristol debut is guaranteed to be something special.
Bostonian party favourites Soul Clap return to Just Jack, two years are their first visit, while Joy Orbison and Ben UFO also make a welcome comeback after show-stopping sets at Just Jack’s 6th Birthday.
Impressed yet? It doesn’t stop there. In the 2nd Warehouse, Techno veteran Mr G will be delivering more of the amazing live sounds that proved triumphant in his Boiler Room set last year, with Leon Vynehall also on the bill representing the UK house new school.
Aside from the music, Just Jack guarantee a sensory overload with fancy dress, face painting, and the Slumbarave and Sordid Cinema (we’re not quite sure what they are either) to keep us more than entertained. Fancy dress is taken very seriously by partygoers at previous Freak Boutiques, and this year will continue the trend. The theme is Deja Voodoo – Freaks from Past & Present: Voodoo Rays and Undead Krays. Unfortunately, a pair of sexy bunny ears shall not suffice at this party
Though selecting your In:Motion schedule can be something like a kid in a candy shop, Just Jack’s Halloween party is an essential for any house and techno lover in Bristol. With great vibes, incredible production and phenomenal music guaranteed, it’s certainly a stand out event of the series. And for god’s sake, they’ve got ZIP! That should be enough for you anyway.
