Dirtytalk. Hunee. The Motorcycle Showrooms. How could we refuse?
It’s a space that facilitates awesome DJs, an adoring crowd, and excellent moves on the dancefloor, and we can always rely on the Dirtytalk residents to have an eye on the floor and an ear for the best records to get us going. After warming up the crowd they parted ways for Hunee to take to the decks. He had arrived at the venue looking as slick as a whistle, pointed at the psychedelic poster and announced simply ‘I am Hunee’. Please do come in.
The Korean-born Berlin DJ and producer – pronounced ‘who-knee’ – was framed nicely by the low ceiling and two imposing speakers – a strong footing from which to launch his set. We were expecting the funky tunes, and they started off that way, with Genius of Time’s edit of Love Thang going down a treat. But things quickly took a turn for more techno-disco grooves, and we had no complaints. The best-dressed man to ever spin records, he kept us dancing away into the early hours.
Last week Dirtytalk announced their next party with superbly-named Norwegian label Sex Tags Mania, which is massive news. If it’s anything like what we were treated to with Hunee, we, and you, will be in for a smashing good time.
