In case you haven’t noticed, House is rather popular at the moment. It’s all the better, therefore, when we hear production that stands out from the crowd of producers all vying for attention in the same corner of Electronic music. Pedestrian achieves just that on Hoyle Road, his first release off James Zabiela’s Born Electric imprint and only the label’s second in total. James dropped the track at the end of his Boiler Room set, sending the internet into a tizzy about who was behind those soaring, melancholic chimes that gave the track such impact. Yet with sharp percussion and those whispy vocals, it still possesses a warmth to it that makes it such a dancefloor hit and will no doubt ensure it’ll be doing the circuits in sun-soaked festival sets across Europe this summer.
Hoyle Road is out now as a digital download via Bleep with some interesting artwork from Ben Jacobs. It won’t be up for grabs on vinyl for another month, but there are some excellent remixes from FaltyDL, SpectraSoul and Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka to look out for in the meantime.
