Yesterday we brought you the new single from Tuesday Born, and now we’re excited to bring you the UK premiere of a new track by Gabriel Benn’s other project with Ollie Williams, Afro-Bass duo The Busy Twist. Titled LDN LUANDA PT. 2 it follows the first part released as a free download last year, and takes the bass a step further, packing a real punch. It might take its roots from Angola, where the Kuduro style vocals originate from, but there’s a lot of comparison with the House sounds that have taken Johannesburg, and South Africa, by storm recently. Resident Advisor’s Real Scenes video on the city (see below) does a great job telling us more about it. With this evidence, plus the recent Boiler Room with Studio Africa, it looks as if 2013 is going to be a big year for African sounds in Electronic music. With remixes set to drop on Soundway Records and Top Billin’, and then the marker that LDN LUANDA PT. 2 lays down, we’d be very surprised if The Busy Twist weren’t part of this journey.
