The quality of the Futureboogie lineup was good enough to have us dancing at our desks on Friday afternoon. And the night did not disappoint, providing the perfect dance floor; busy enough to get wrapped up in the occasion, but with ample room to show our appreciation. Moodymann’s ethos was reflected in the collaborative atmosphere – it was not about the DJ but the tracks that he laid down. His set was the perfect precursor to Kerri Chandler’s, and together they gave us no reason to leave the main room. This was to the misfortune of George Fitzgerald who was playing in The Cave, where he impressively kept the crowd moving despite the thoroughfare that the room so often becomes. The Futureboogie DJs ensured that the mood was alive in The Tunnel, and if we were left wanting, it was only for more.
