Geordie songstress Lulu James is single-handedly leading a Future-Soul revolution in the North-East armed with a powerful voice and the dark, Post-Dubstep productions of Domzilla. We were lucky enough to catch her at the Great Escape Festival earlier this month where she lit up a rather drab afternoon in Brighton with her extravagant wardrobe. For the first half, she seemed to be wearing something resembling a bin bag then, after a few songs, she disrobed to reveal some even more eye-opening. It wasn’t just the outfits that kept the audience captivated for her booming voice and Dom’s tight production stood up as well as on record.
Lulu James released her debut EP, Rope Mirage, last month which can be bought over at iTunes. If you’re happen to be in Bristol, Nottingham or Manchester this weekend, you can also check her out at Dot To Dot Festival, as well as a host of other. See our preview for more details.
