Anushka exploded onto our radar last week when her track Yes Guess was played on Gilles Peterson’s 6 Music show. Despite Peterson’s claims of a summer anthem in the making, he kept quiet on any extra details so we did some digging. We narrowed it down to the Soundclouds of Anushka Music and Victoria Port, which both sound spookily similar. Following the buzz on Twitter, it seems that the real Anushka hails from Brighton and includes vocals from Victoria and production from Max Wheeler of Ye Mighty – you might remember us featuring their brilliant cover of Hudson Mohawke’s Fuse. Despite the absence of Yes Guess, Victoria’s own contemporary soul tracks are a real treat.
