Beginning with sparse trickles of luminous monophony, soothing pads gradually flourish alongside organic clicks, clacks and heavy side-chain compression. Pitched-down, chopped-up vocals from R Kelly’s Real Talk then elevate this song to flawless perfection. The track evolves calmly, with a sitar sample from Tyler Randall adding even more texture as the track progresses. The track is free to download here, and is forthcoming off the BLK EP dropping January 23rd via Brooklyn-based label/blog/party Astro Nautico. Its been a long 4 days but I think I’ve finally settled on my favourite track of 2012.
