The xx need no introduction really and it’s just as well as we should be on a break at Christmas. So here’s the first material since their Mercury Award winning self-titled album of 2009, leaked yesterday on their blog. It came with the caption “Open eyes is a demo we did whilst creating our new album, we just wanted to share it with you. xx The xx”. It’s pretty stripped back with no beat, but who cares? The xx are back and our appetite is wet for more to come next year.
