Logan Sturrock aka Flørist – a visual artist and producer stemming from the Vancouver after party scene has always placed a great importance on quality over quantity. Sturrock set the standards early for moulding slick, rhythmical elements on in his Phenomena EP for All Caps before follow-ups on Pacific Rhythm and World Building under his V. Rosso moniker.
His first new music since a move to Berlin, ‘Flash II’ sees Sturrock maintain his elegant style of deploying luscious, emotive atmospheres despite moving into pacier territories. His delicate use of alleviating pads has become somewhat of a regular feature within his work, balanced by tender waves, skippy breaks and glistening strings through this short yet gratifying number.
Our 2018 Advent Calendar is in aid of Julie’s Bicycle, a non-profit that supports the creative industry to take action on climate change. All money raised through Bandcamp sales goes directly to Green Riders, a new campaign that will help will create more sustainable collective practices in the music industry.
