Premiere: J.Morrison – Brown Eyes

J.Morrison strikes again, this time breaking away from the Alfresco Disco clan to be part of a VA EP on Jamie Trench’s label, Roots For Bloom. Doing what he does best, Mr Morrison takes a sample and reinvigorates it with a dancefloor-ready bassline and subtle percussion. On ‘Brown Eyes’ a repeated vocal and saxaphone sample slowly build, alongside an elasticated bass that twangs and snaps, periodically building and releasing tension. With a solo EP forthcoming on Alfresco’s in-house label, J.Morrison isn’t planning on sitting still and we’re excited to see what this talented Bristolian delivers in 2016.

‘Brown Edits’ is taken from Shag Edits Vol. 5, out 12th Jan on Roots For Bloom. Pre-order from Juno.
