Bristol producer Admin was one of the first artists we wrote about this year (Ones To Watch in 2014), so it seems quite fitting he’s helping us see out the year with an Advent Calendar contribution. His versatility as a producer across the house spectrum has been nothing short of magical, from disco-tinged Daze & Night EP to the late-night jam ‘Basement’ and sun-drenched ‘Gold Soul‘. ‘Memories’ has Admin continuing his voyage through house music, infusing wooden rhythms and a chugging kick with some soulful vocals and dusty rhodes keys. In his own words:
“This track came out when I started getting more into sampling. I didn’t try anything fancy and I think it all just came together nicely and stays nice and deep, just how I like it. It had been gathering dust for a while, so it was a natural choice when asked to donate something to the advent calendar!”
