Much like a gentle current downstream, ‘Out Missing’ is one of those late night journey home soundtracks that effortlessly carries you along to your destination, and there’s nothing you can do but enjoy the ride. Beginning with doused keys and post-classical piano, from which horns emerge in the background, the track swells into a shuffling middle section bubbling with warm textures. Such is the serenity, balanced with just the right amount of energy, we would happily have this track continue on before sadly ending with the reprise. But in the knowledge that it’s just one of a few sublime cuts on Fettel’s Out Missing EP, that’s compensation enough.
