Vegyn – Afrika

A fresh new talent has descended upon our radar this past week. 20-year-old London-based producer Vegyn (yep he’s a vegetarian incase you were wondering) has been creating beautifully ambient and spaced-out electronic music with serious shuffle. Played out on James Blake’s radio show recently, a buzz has certainly started to form around this super-young talent. He’s been shouted out by good friends Zero 7 (perhaps their laid-back grooves influenced his own sound to a degree) and was also picked up by one of Europe’s most laudable music tastemakers Lefto. Suffice to say the future for this artist is very promising – we also know something you don’t know 😉

The left-field Electronic artist has his own collective/label called Plz Make It Ruinswhere he has released an 8-track EP full of frequencies of stunning proportions entitled All Bad Things Have Ended – Your Lunch Included (the name inspired by an abandoned card he found on the street). The EP is available on limited edition cassette (we highly recommend) and digital download over on Bandcamp. The stand-out track for us was Afrika, a 2-minute  journey of glowing ambience that has had us constantly clicking the replay button. We’re streaming the track above for your audio pleasure, go cop the real thing if you enjoy it.

For more, check out his guestmix on NTS Radio below, and keep an eye out for his label’s compilation tape coming out soon that includes a new track from the man himself as well as a bunch of other London-based rising artists (Iydes, Ersatz, Al’yson, Vehda, Habitats., Testset & Heardman).

Catch Vegyn playing out some off-kilter dance music at The Waiting Room in North London on April 10th – head to the Facebook event for more details.
