Golesworthy – Lost Where I Belong [free download]

Last year we brought you the first release on Nightwalk Records, the Bristol-via-Paris label set-up by DJ/producer Harry Buggé. NWR celebrates productions that aren’t geared towards the dancefloor and otherwise forgotten on hard drives and Soundcloud accounts.  Through a combination of atmospheric music and accompanying artwork from Buggé, NWR pays homage to “the solo cigarette…the slowed walk”

The label’s second release sees them team up with Golesworthy, who’s also resident for Housework, one of our favourite nights in Bristol. He originally uploaded Lost Where I Belong a few months back and the appeal for NWR was instant. As Buggé explains, “it’s unbelievably atmospheric, with a rawness to the percussion and the vocals that really appealed to me. Perfect for those slightly more pensive moments we all have.”

The artwork for Lost Where I Belong contains a social subtext that builds on the sentiment of the song title. Buggé’s photography aims to represent the transition between the Paris suburbs and the centre; that no-mans-land where many citizens are ignored by their government. As Buggé’s describes, “in a sense they’re lost in their own city, because they no longer feel a part of it”.

NWR002 is a free download, available from their Facebook.
