Now into its fifth year, news has just broken of Farr Festival’s first lineup announcement and it’s a biggy.
Farr frequenters from years gone will be pleased to see George Fitzgerald, Andrew Weatherall and Daniel Avery all returning. They’ll also be joined at the top of the bill by Hercules & Love Affair, Mount Kimbie, Scuba, Gentleman’s Dub Club and Marcus Intalex.
The main thing we’ve noticed from this year’s first announcement is that it’s a very mixed bag. We use that phrase in the best possible way, for it’s clear that Farr are trying out a greater range of genres and musical formats (live and DJd) for their 2014 edition. Among the first wave of live announcements, we’re particularly looking forward to seeing Pional (It’s All Over, below, is under his Blanc1 moniker), Woman’s Hour and Outboxx, but we’re reliably informed they’ll be accompanied by many more.
The second lineup up announcement is expected in a month or so, but in the meantime, we’ll be working hard to bring you some in-depth features about some of the artists playing.
