East Anglian rapper Booda French (a.k.a. Don’t Flop battle rapper Truth) has recently released this video to accompany the audio for his track ’61 Grace’, off his upcoming E.P. ‘Ventolin’. Set on his home turf of Ipswich, the video follows Mr French round as he raps (and sings) about his rainy hometown. The beat is spilling over with pure soul, courtesy of producer J57 (part of The Brown Bag Allstars collective), whilst visuals come from the Don’t Flop/Be Established camp. Big up this new fresh talent.

It’s easy to draw this comparison because of the in-built ASAP Mob production team, low pitch voices, futuristic Hip-hop beats and constant use of “swag”, but it doesn’t quite sum Rocky up…
We caught up with Ghostpoet just before last week’s gig at Start the Bus in Bristol…

By now, every Hip-hop head in the world should be well versed with the movementsof OFWGKTA, a young collective of L.A. rappers/skaters, steered from the front by 19 year old luminary shepherd Tyler the Creator. Within this extraordinarily talented pack are two wolves, Hodgy Beats and Left Brain, entertaining a shared vision of laidback and upbeat Hip-hop vibes, hence their name MellowHype. Left Brain’s beat science melts dream pads with fresh coast drum hits, whilst Hodgy provides the L.A. flow and sharp wit to make this a truly righteous duo. In fast-paced Odd Future style, they released two albums in 2010 and will also be releasing Numbers, their debut album on Odd Future Records, later this year. You can download YelloWhite and BlackenedWhite for free here, and watch this space for more updates on the next big thing to storm out of the Odd Future house of Hip-hop. Below we’ve posted a track off their YelloWhite album and an exclusive live performance of 65, a track off future releaseNumbers.
