H&M’s pop store at the Old Truman Brewery in East London continues to host its weekly summer private lock-in parties with a partnership with Teen Creeps. The Brighton and London based indie/new wave promoters and DJ’s have built up an established following for themselves due to hosting the likes of the XX and Maccabees for over 5 years now. Tucked in the left side of the room, the Teen Creeps DJ began proceedings by spinning an array of summery guitar anthems, post-punk and indie anthems. The likes of Blood Orange and Beach House got an early airing, and it was satisfying not to be hit in the face with poppy deep house for once.
Things began to loosen up amongst an array of fresh H&M garms on show around the store, with a delectable selection of cocktails, G & T’s and up-market lager. This merry vibe was soon matched by the more upbeat selection of the Teen Creep DJ as he began to gracefully weave through an enjoyable, if, confused selection of, grime, house bangers and indie rock. Dizzee Rascal’s seminal ‘I Luv You’ got an airing, a highlight inside the intimate surroundings of the store’s interior.
Towards the end of the night, the DJ moved on to hyperactive trap which moved everyone into action. Whilst the selection of music was vast and the atmosphere quite unique, overall H&M threw a solid party.
