In 2019 a crew of avid diggers and party-goers from Paris turned their attention to shining a light on musical gems of the past. Unveiling the predecessors of contemporary electronic music that still have the uncanny ability to destroy the dancefloors of today, through reworks, re-issues and original productions Pardonnez-nous enlighten listeners on the world of music that came before us.
For their latest release, the label transports us to 1980s Italy, right on the cusp of a soon to be world renowned genre. In the small town of Cremona, some of the most recognised representatives of Italo disco assembled under the name Stelee Up to record ‘Waiting For You’. The track swims in all the hallmarks that makes the genre undeniably fun, from its synth-led melody, to its punchy drums and delightfully cheesy vocals from Larry Pignagnoli and Ivana Spagna — this is Italo disco in its purest form.
Waiting For You, which includes remixes from Fabrizio Mammarella and Flemming Dalum, will be released soon on Pardonnez-nous.
