In April of last year, Liepzig’s Freund Der Familie imprint issued the first chapter of The Omega Interpretations; an LP that tasked several producers with breathing new life into a handful of the label founders FDF material. The resulting reworks, which spanned electro, breaks and techno from the likes of The Advent, Carl Finlow and Vivian Koch, are now being followed up with a second instalment, welcoming a new batch of artists to revisit the label cuts.
Freund Der Familie broaden the musical scope for this one, exploring the hazier, atmospheric corners of ambient, Balearic, house and dub techno. Consisting of reimaginations from Brawther, Prins Thomas, Markus Suckut and Thomas Fehlmann, Omega’s second iteration provides the artists with the space for freedom and expression, giving each of them an entire side of the double LP to explore as they wish.
The Omega Interpretations Chapter II will be released on Freund Der Familie this May.
