Rising Irish talent R.Kitt knows how to build a groove. Whether it’s dulcet house on his 2017 debut EP ‘Jigsaw’ or sci-fi breakbeats on 2020’s ‘Ripples From the Edge’, the Dublin-based producer amasses momentum at a steady and measured pace so rhythms slowly settle into the body rather than attack at the climax.
Following a release on his own imprint Orainn last year, R.Kitt’s latest single comes courtesy of Mango, a Berlin-based label and club night. On the platform’s second volume of its compilation series ‘Sleepy Snoozy,’ the co-founder of Dublin collective dip oozes contemplation and self-reflection on “Can’t Be Alone.”
With notes of ambient, minimal house, liquid DnB and breakbeat layered against profound vocals that are sure to resonate with anyone in isolation, this record is a perfect fit for the album’s selected charity of choice —Waterford’s Solas Centre, a cancer support organisation. Moody and intimate, this is a cut made for lockdown walks, anxious thoughts and mental blocks.
Sleep Snoozy Volume 2 will be released on 2nd April.
