Premiere: Webmoms feat. Sukie – Rice & Potatoes

Webmoms aka Karum Kooper got our attention in late 2020 with his debut EP Ruchikar. His layered and original style, that touches on influences like lo-fi hip hop and neo-soul, has seen the multi-instrumentalist create a compelling sound that’s completely his own. Now, with the help of another emerging artist Sukie’s sugary vocals, Webmoms returns with this seductively slow slice of melancholia, ‘Rice & Potatoes’, the first single from his sophomore EP Lake Tape

Recorded around the same time as Ruchikar and originally intended as an instrumental, Webmoms states he was “bowled over” when hearing Sukie’s own EP and “had to get her involved with a track. The pairing is a perfect match; Sukie’s delicate tone glides over a subtle yet nuanced soundbed, her wistful melody complimenting the gorgeous guitar chords and stripped back percussion built by Webmoms. The single demonstrates a move away from his more hip hop approach and an exciting flex of his dynamism as an artist. A beautiful, laid-back cut that touches the emotions.

Rice & Potatoes will be released on 3rd February via X3i records.
