Leeds collective Brudenell Groove have built a close knit family since their first charity parties back in 2016. It’s only right then that the man tasked with delivering their first full release on their label arm, Reel Long Overdub, is local producer Tom O’Rourke AKA Torom; a key figure at the parties, and in the wider Leeds music community, since those early days.
Revered within the group for his wide ranging music tastes and his ability to craft beautiful electronic textures, The Leeds College of Music graduate delivers a release centred around one synth sample plucked from one of Legowelt’s packs, EPIANO-LomarzStuff2. Exploring the sonic limits of this single synth sample, through twisting, stretching and manipulating the sound, Torom delivers a downtempo five-tracker, aptly named Lomarz, that navigates glitching drum patterns, padded landscapes and warm dance floor rhythms.
