Premiere: Louke Man – Differently_

Since their first label compilation back in 2013, which also marked their first ever release, Atlanta-based cassette label Harsh Riddims have been spotlighting the buzzing underground scene and the DIY sounds central to it.

While many are au fait with the city’s all-star rap roots, label boss Ryan Parks AKA Fit Of Body draws the listener’s attention to the other influences at play, touching the fuzzy lo-fi corners of synth-pop, RnB, soul, house and hiphop. As well as being an outlet for some of Ryan’s own musings, since their inception the label has put out several compilations and releases from the likes of Mike Simonetti, Taves, Takahiro Mukai and Louke Man, the latter of whom is in charge of today’s premiere.

Having released a full tape titled Lil Devil back in 2017, the Toronto-based producer contributed to Volume 3 of the label’s Harsh Riddims compilation series and now he returns for their fourth instalment with ‘Difficulty_’, bringing lo-fi crunchy breaks laced with tender melodies and woozy auto-tuned vocals.
