Journey from Japanese ambient-jazz fusion to 1970s lovers rock and new age tropical dub.

Welcome back to a new Monday Morning Mixtape, to start your week off on the right note. This week’s mixtape was curated by London-based DJ and resident at The Cause Keane Robinson, who runs the E:late party series.

In his own words: “The recording was influenced by a recent solo trip to Tokyo which ended up becoming a bit of a record-hunting pilgrimage. I start and end with some Japanese records and play a lot of other stuff I picked up whilst I was there. Japan’s obsession with Reggae, dub and African music is also a real thing as I came to discover. You’ll hear these sounds throughout. In terms of the vibe I tried to curate music which captures the calming solitude, weirdness and joy that comes with exploring a city like Tokyo by yourself.”
