Originally riding a scholarship at Berklee College of Music as a drummer, North West London producer Linden Jay’s history is well seasoned. From producer credits with Rejjie Snow and Lion Babe to his own side-project as transatlantic soul duo FARR – the work rate is unwavering and impressive.
So I Don’t Forget Vol. 1 – his new project – is no less ambitious. Comprised of 17 tracks encased in 4 separate EPs released over the course of the next two months, the package tracks a day in the life of the producer, sprinkled with phone recordings and skit memories from friends alongside neck-snapping beats.
Today we’re premiering our favourite track off Part 1, ‘I’m Broke But Everything’s Okay & Life’s Great’ – neatly blending crispy hi-hat groove, laid-back snaps, a funkadelic bassline and soultry smooth vocals. Expect to have this looping all summer long.
