Welcome back to a fresh new Monday and a brand new mixtape to ease yourself into your morning.
Today we journey down the west coast of Africa. All the records featured in this mix were purchased during a six-month overland surf trip from London to Cape Town. The journey, spanning 15,000 miles, saw travelling through some of Africa’s most musically significant countries, from the Arab soundscape of the Sahara desert, down into the beating heart of West African music through countries like Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast, Benin, and of course Nigeria.
This mixtape was curated by Stuart Swift and sets the soundtrack to his full written and photographed piece on the trip, dropping soon on the site.
