For the last decade, Alfresco Disco have been treating Bristol to parties unlike any other, taking over unusual spaces, keeping the lineups under wraps and offering a level of production that outguns most festivals. Continuing their quest to keep dancers happy, they began a label in 2013 using it as a platform to showcase some of the talent who also DJ at their parties.
Following label and partymates like Forget Me Not and J.Morrison comes Seka, resident of Cardiff party Teak and also a longstanding supportee of ours. His First Forest EP contains three sample-heavy MPC house jams and is also accompanied with a remix by Tiago, a vanguard of the Lisbon dance community as resident of Lux and boss of the Inter- and Outerzona labels. On this rework, he elongates the playful central motif of the original and accompanies with melancholic piano chords, adds live percussion and works in a more ominous underbelly.
Seka’s First Forest EP is out soon – pre-order from the Alfresco Disco website or Juno.
