It’s been a minute since we bathed in No Bad Days’ inaugural release. Hollick – DJ, promoter and the man at the helm of No Bad Day’s radio show and parties – announced the label arm with Boiler Room’s Gabriel Szatan at the beginning of the year and, after a successful launch with Polish producer Selvy, we’ve been poised and ready for the second installment.
NBD002 comes from Roberto who makes up one half of Conga Radio with friend and producer Jex Opolis. With over 20 years on the Toronto circuit and rumoured to be known as “the radiator” in the Canadian city’s DJ circles, it’s about time Roberto’s production abilities were appreciated across the Atlantic.
A dreamier venture than Selvy’s efforts on the debut release, our chosen premiere ‘In The Galleria’ conjures up cleansing feelings that suit a horizontal Sunday as much as a 6am sunrise dance. It’s a cosmic soul soother, opening with the sounds of bamboo wind chimes before continuing the ambient flavours with washes of shimmering synths that bring forth warm bass and a simple kick. This is a follow-up worth lending your ears to, we just hope Hollick’s Nan is in agreement.
