Premiere: Laura Misch – Divided

Since first hearing the warm tones of her saxophone a few years ago, the work of Laura Misch hasn’t gone unnoticed. During the summer she completed her first EP and the deeply jazzy ‘Shaped By Who We Knew’ included contributions from the likes of Alfa Mist and Carmody. But it is her latest effort that we are pleased to draw your attention to today.

Misch delves into the depths of her conscience in her latest effort ‘Divided’. Musically and lyrically she documents the emotion drawn from moments of solitude as she conjures an eery peacefulness with delicate broken chords and a slow pulsing kick. Subtle echo and reverb sit Misch’s vocals beautifully on top of Floating Points reminiscent swells, all rounded by layers of Misch’s velvety saxophone.

Misch performs her first headline gig this Friday and to make it even more special, she will be performing with a full live band. Tickets are almost all gone but if you act quick you may be able to grab one of the remaining few.

Head to the Facebook event for more info on this Friday’s show.
