LK is the calmer alias of Leeds-based producer Jordon Saxton. Saxton is primarily known for making stripped back house and techno under the name Viers, and also produces even more forceful material as Unklone. His LK alias can seem positively breezy in comparison, prioritising warm textures and melodies over the function of his other music.
This made LK a perfect fit for the sixth volume of Roots for Bloom’s S.H.A.G Edits series, where he has contributed the wonderfully plodding slo-house track ‘Ur Love Is Mine’. Clocking in at less than 100bpm while sticking to a 4×4 framework, LK’s expert sample filtering creates a current of tension that runs throughout the song to keep things interesting at its slow pace. Added to this, trashy bass guitar licks and pitched up diva vocals give the song a sense of seediness that is sure to command the attention of many outdoor dance-floors this summer.
