Premiere: Selah Sue – I Won’t Go For More (MNDSGN Remix)

Sun-laced boulevards, hanging palm trees and the finest burger joints known to man (we’re looking at you In & Out), Los Angeles has always been a breeding ground for some of the most doped-out beats on a chill-out tip. Find musical institution Low End Theory a stone’s throw away from Stones Throw HQ, where artists such as Anderson Paak and Knxwledge and Kali Uchis and Tyler, The Creator have been making some of the silkiest collaborative R&B jams to soundtrack a hazy cruise through the city, often blurring the line between pop music and independent hip hop.

This all leads us to our premiere today, which brings together fresh-coast favourite MNDSGN to a remix of Selah Sue’s ‘I Won’t Go for More’. Taken off her Reason LP out in the UK June 3rd, the Filipino LA residing Stones Throw producer has put his hands on the catchy single, instilling cosmic funk vibes and a steady groove to snap your neck to. Colourful instrumentation is laced with Selah’s decadent vocals, twinkly 80s pads and oscillating synth leads are laced with retro reverb, ensuring this will be banging out of low-riders for the foreseeable future.
