“Varkala Festival takes its name and spirit from India’s distinctive, artistic expression and vibrancy”

Varkala Festival is a new UK music festival offering a modest capacity of 500, three days of the finest sounds in techno, house, soul and funk. The intimate event is to be held just a 60 minute train ride outside of London (direct from Waterloo), at Park View Farm, Wokingham, RG40 3BX.

Rather impressively the team have bagged some real gooduns for their first lineup announcement. Helping them kick off in style will be master of melding Mr Ties, whose famed HOMOPATIK party in Berlin – as well as his deeply invested approach to music – have made him an important component in the dance music community. His polymorphic sets draw influences from all styles of music, keeping you on your toes and suitably inspired by his natural flow. Another stand out is Daniel Wang, being a producer with strong attachment to disco he will offer a soulful and funk flexing set for the warm weather atop of Hill Farm.

They will be joined by recent Whities signing Avalon Emerson, World Unknown founder Andy Blake, Going Good head honcho Brian Not Brian, Turkish authority Jonny Rock and a strong Bristol contingent in Jay LAdmin, Gramrcy and Harri Pepper.

The festival will run over three main areas, the open air Indian truck-art inspired Main Stage, the second Lakeside Stage and The Campfire for some surprise acoustic sets.
