Premiere: See Thru Hands – Hot City (Ruf Dug Metrolink Vibes In The Area Dub)

Mancunian six piece See Thru Hands’ first EP is finally seeing the light of day on Ruf Dug‘s Ruf Kutz imprint. Since being tipped off on them by Ruffy this year, they’ve become a firm favourite at STW, that’s seen us host their debut London show as well as join our Gottwood stage earlier this summer.

Between the six of them, they’ve notched up a fair amount of individual feats. Frontman Duncan Jones has co-written several tracks with Maceo Plex as DNCN, Guitarist Tommy also makes up part of another band called Porij and bass player Danny produces as Tommy Walker 3 and has released on Red Laser Records. On top of that, singer Becki used to tour with The Pipettes, Gaz (the synth wizard) is behind the mastering for Andy Votel’s Finder’s Keepers and drummer Ian “Budgie” Jones remains one of the most respected drummers in the North.

Sounding something like the lovechild of Talking Heads and Golden Teacher, their ‘Hot City’ EP brings together two originals backed up with three remixes, one from Metrodome and two from the Ruf Kutz head honcho. On the dub, Ruf Dug slows down the pace turning it into a glowing tropical-tinged number, with vocals drenched in echo and reverb.
