Premiere: 4AM – Trouble And Pain

From their home of Oslo, the Mutual Intentions crew, made up of several artists and producers including Ivan Ave, Fredfades and Hans Jørgen Wærner, have nurtured a creative platform to showcase their combined love of both music and visuals. From cassette compilations to scarfs, limited edition 7″s and tote bags, their distinctly fresh brand always feels coherent and consistent, no matter the medium.

For their next release, they’ve got their hands on an ultra rare LP from British synth pop band 4AM, a group made up of Steve Kirby and Kevin Finch who only released the one album back in 1989. Originally pressed privately on vinyl, all 300 copies were sold to their friends and family upon the album’s release, and it hasn’t seen a reissue until now. Our selection ‘Trouble and Pain’, much like the rest of the album, brings together a smattering of genres; AOR vocals layered over hazy synth pop all carried by a trusty crisp 808 for that electro-funk flavour.

4Am will be out in early August – grab your copy via Mutual Intentions’ Bandcamp.
