Premiere: Anders And – 00034 (I Hold The Lord)

We’re always excited to support emerging talent here at Stamp The Wax, but occasionally we get hold of an artist so special that there’s a sneaky temptation to hold back and keep it all to ourselves (at least for while). Stockholm-based house producer Anders and is a case in point, with a rich patchwork of influences that make up his exotic sound.

After living and studying in London for seven years, the Scandinavian producer has developed a raw style that fuses complex jazz, african drumming and blissed out ambient groove together into something completely original.

Today we premiere ‘00034 (I Hold The Lord)’, off his forthcoming Love EP out on brand new Swedish label Brown Fat. Fusing aerated pads, entrancing tribal poly-rhythms and heady pizzicato string lines, the track seductively builds through the first two minutes. Reaching a crescendo, rare snippets of gospel and soul vocals dance with jazzy horn samples, straddling destinations between dance-floor sentiments and late-night headphone vibes. Certainly one of our ones to watch for 2017.

Anders and‘s Love EP will drop in early February on 12″ vinyl via Brown Fat.
