Premiere: Gigi Masin & Tempelhof – Labyrinth

Gigi Masin has been enjoying some overdue love the past few years and it’s not hard to see why. Thanks to releases like his solo compilation Talk To The Sea and the very well received Gaussian Curve project with Young Marco and Johnny Nash, Gigi is now reaching a wider audience with multi-generational label tastemakers, collaborators and remixers all helping his music reach new ears.

The Venetian’s output maintains a high quality with his latest album, in partnership with fellow Italians Tempelhof aka Luciano Ermondi and Paolo Mazzacani (of Hell Yeah Recordings) who also works together back in 2014 on the Hoshi LP.

Titled Tsuki, our pick of the bunch is ‘Labyrinth’. Akin to much of the album, it is a vivid aural voyage that unfolds gently around the ears with clever panning that guarantees to aid the listener into a contemplatively good mood. Bouncing chords, whirling lead lines and clever production make this a perfect soundtrack for a tab of acid (not compulsory) and a David Attenborough doc with the sound down. So if you’re planning to have a nice evening to yourself, do yourself a favour and preorder the record on the links below.

Tsuki is out 10th June on Hell Yeah (World) and Cascine (North America) – pre-order from Juno.
