Mexico City’s Tuzeint delivers another stirring cut of melodic pleasure off his debut EP, 23. ‘Time Will Meet Everything’ is equally a flex of musical breadth as much as it is maturity in restraint, an impressive statement from the bubbling singer and multi-instrumentalist. With help from producer Wet Baes, it is one of six songs representing a personal body of work built on Tuzeint’s life experiences from the ages of 23 to 28.
Carving out a distinct fusion that touches neo-soul, jazz and hip hop, there’s a subtle savour of early D’Angelo albums in Tuzeint’s sound. On ‘Time Will Meet Everything’, coaxing keys and guitar ripple underneath Tuzeint’s purring vocals, while gentle horns compliment the soundscape reminiscent of Roy Hargrove. A vocal-driven groove, the track is an exquisite soul piece that probes while maintaining an organic and breezy feel.
It follows the release of first single ‘No Mo’, a track that gained the attention of many, including none other than mega-producer Jermaine Dupri. With such a well executed style touching cruising grooves and mellow melodies, we think Tuzeint just might make a few more notable fans along the way.
23 will be released on 26 February via Bludot Recordings – grab your copy.
