Gary Bartz, Theo Parrish + Tirzah booked for Gilles Peterson’s first We Out Here Festival

A Worldwide Family Gathering running from 15th – Sunday 18th August.

The first names and site for Gilles Peterson’s inaugural UK festival has just been announced and its a predictably eclectic spread reaching into all corners of his musical universe. The site for We Out Here has also been revealed as Abbots Ripton in Cambridgeshire, resurrecting a plot of land that’s laid dancingly dormant since Secret Garden Party vacated in 2017.

Live highlights include Gary Bartz, Matthew Herbert, Tirzah, Idris Ackamoor & The Pyramids, The Comet Is Coming, Sons of Kemet, Nubya Garcia, Adrian Sherwood & Horace Andy, Kojey Radical, Hailu Mergia, MXMJoY, Moses Boyd Exodus, Steam Down Orchestra, Kokoroko and Kaidi Tathum.

DJ highlights include Theo Parrish, Francois K, 2018 Diggers Directory guest Colin Curtis, Mr Scruff, Objekt, Call Super, Josey Rebelle, Skee Mask, 2018 Diggers Directory mixer Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, Channel One, Dennis Bovell, Marc Mac (4Hero), Awesome Tapes From Africa, Carista, Mafalda, Tash LC, Andrew Ashong and 2016 Diggers Directory guest Dea Barandana.

Brownswood-affiliated talent development programme, Future Bubblers, will be showcasing some of their alumni, including Elsa Hewitt, Kayla Painter, Medikul and R. Lyle.
