Premiere: Project Karnak – Fellowship

There is no question that the world of jazz-influenced music is one increasingly being recognised; with a few acts leading the way, the path has been cleared for acts new and old to grab some rightful limelight. New London duo Project Karnak – Dominic Canning (of previously featured TriForce) on keys and Sam Ouissellat on drums – are gunning to do just that, and we’re pleased to give you a first look at their cardinal track ‘Fellowship’.

A combination of high-energy drums with fluid and mercurial jazz chord progressions, conjure feels a la Yussef Kamaal, yet Project Karnak escape the skin of the more classical elements to the cosmic plane. An ardent bass synth line that would equally command in a slowed Dam Funk joint, rides over the the controlled frenzy of Sam’s drum much like influence Mark Guiliana. With news an EP in the works, we’re looking forward to hearing more.

‘Fellowship’ is released 1st Feb with the EP to follow soon.
