Girls In Sound: A new project from Brainchild, bringing more women into music production

Girls in sound

New project Girls In Sound from young festival and arts organisation Brainchild, keeps up the discourse of the gender gap in electronic music; just one of a number of important issues needing addressing by the music industry today. With its main aim to bring more women into music production, Brainchild invite producers to a series of workshops led by DJ and producer Mina.

Open to women with all levels of experience, the course will lead 10 participants through all bases of music production, including sampling, sound design, remixing, recording and mastering. Whilst offering an opportunity to develop their production and song-writing skills, Girls In Sound provides a space to create, meet and feedback with other musicians. Additionally, those lucky enough to be selected will gain access to specially made sample packs of stems and recordings from rising musicians and vocalists including Poppy Ajudha, Laura Misch, Ezra Collective drummer Femi Koleoso and more.

Workshops take place on Sunday 5th, 12th and 19th February from at Platform, Peckham. Apply now here and head to the Facebook event page for more information.
